Bill Richardson, a Democrat, because he was the only Hispanic running for the White House. "I think as a Latino, we all have a responsibility to back qualified Latinos," Sosa said. After Richardson's withdrawal from the race, Sosa threw his support behind McCain, largely because of his stance on immigration reform. But while many of Bush's one-time South Texas backers have flocked to McCain, Giuliani and Romney, others appear to be waiting for a consensus candidate to emerge. Cook column: Treating juveniles as adults
What a difference two years and a murder conviction can make. In Post photos, young Christopher Crocker appears to have evolved from defiant teenager at his arrest in 2006 to apologetic adolescent at his day of judgment last Thursday. Which is the real Christopher Crocker? Everyone goes through changes between the ages of 15 and 17. Having spent 16 months in juvenile detention awaiting trial, Crocker may have changed more than most. He could have wised up. Or he might have become more hardened and a better actor. I thought jurors might go soft and choose manslaughter instead of murder after Crocker cried on the stand about the crime he'd committed. But they weren't buying it. It's a Sanskrit word that means resolution, free will or determination, according to Sankalpa.org.in. Reisen said the practice, which is a way to reprogram oneself from the self-conscious, can empower a person to change his or her life. How it works: The sankalpa is a phrase or collection of phrases that are recited after a person meditates. Reisen said meditation and reciting her sankalpa is the first thing she does in the morning - even before that first cup of coffee. She'll wake up and then lie on her bed, often listening to a CD created by her instructor.
