To clarify the concerns of a few confused readers, revised predictions from the FPRNPTAEUBTP don't count as real predictions, just predictions that I wish I had made after watching a couple weeks of games. For on-the-record purposes, I'm still stuck with the ones from my Quick-Hit NBA Preview. So, yes, I'm on the record as saying the Bulls would win 56 games and make the Finals. Believe me, I know. Ogdensburg convict arrested for Edwardsville robbery attempt
An Ogdensburg man is under arrest for the Thursday evening attempted robbery and shooting at the Edwardsville Grocery.State Police charged 35 year old Patrick R. Ashley of 400 Mansion Avenue with 1st degree attempted robbery. He is a convicted felon for two previous robberies in Ogdensburg in 1998. (see further details below.)Ashley was arraigned in town of Morristown court and remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail with bail set at $50,000.In the Thursday evening incident, a camouflage-clad man went into the store and demanded money.When store owner Jim Snyder chased him out the door, the would-be robber wheeled and fired a shot from a rifle, hitting Mr. Snyder in the ankle.Mr. Snyder was released from Canton-Potsdam Hospital on Friday.In 1999 Ashley pleaded guilty to 2nd degree robbery and was sentenced to 5 years in prison.He admitted trying to rob the Park Street Agway and the Granview Motel the previous year, using a .22 rifle.

Officer says obstructed view caused Friday wreck
A Henderson County Sheriff's Department officer escaped injury Friday afternoon when the county vehicle he was driving struck a van at the intersection of Edmonson and Cream Level Road in North Athens.According to Department of Public Safety reports, Sgt. Thomas Lee Robertson, 36, was driving a 2007 Ford pick-up east on Edmonson St. when the vehicle approached the intersection with Cream Level Road. Robertson attempted to make a left turn and struck the side of a 2006 Dodge Caravan driven by Sylvia De la Garza, 50, of Mabank.De la Garza refused transport by ambulance and was taken by a private vehicle to East Texas Medical Center in Athens, where she was treated and released. Two small children who were passengers in the van were not injured.DPS reports state Robertson's view of the intersection was impaired by large brush and trees.
