| Ahmadinejad v. Bollinger: Words Were Spoken, But What Was Said?
Legislation of the Islamic Penal Code according to which women's right to live is not protected as the right of a full human being and in which young girls of nine years of age (but not boys) are considered of age of criminal responsibility, and the decision that testimony of women is not the equivalent of the testimony of men; • Emphasis on the absolute right of custody for the father or the paternal grandfather in the matter of matrimony of female children to the extent that the father or the grandfather can marry a child of nine years of age to any man he intends. You might have a problem imagining how in the world they could be justified in harboring animosity towards this man, but gee, I think I can see how some well-researched facts about women and how they're treated in Iran could peeve them off just a bit- especially if they have a nine year old daughter! Homosexuals might harbor some animosity when they hear him say “"In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country.
A new look at how the West will be won
To clarify the concerns of a few confused readers, revised predictions from the FPRNPTAEUBTP don't count as real predictions, just predictions that I wish I had made after watching a couple weeks of games. For on-the-record purposes, I'm still stuck with the ones from my Quick-Hit NBA Preview. So, yes, I'm on the record as saying the Bulls would win 56 games and make the Finals. Believe me, I know. Well aware. Hearing you loud and clear. Anyway ... .
Open Mike: Tiger always a hot topic
My irons were not sharp." I agree that the man carries a lot of weight on his shoulders and a lot of responsibility. That is exactly why, if he chooses once in awhile not to answer all the questions from inquiring minds, it is his right. I think we expect too much of him anyway. . . .

CLINTON: Not who she wants you to believe
On Sept. 14, 2001, Hillary Clinton, New York's junior senator, visited Ground Zero. You might not have read it in the New York Times, but many of New York's finest, the police officers and firemen, refused to shake her hand."Did you know: "On Oct. 20, 2002, she was literally booed off the stage at Paul McCartney's benefit concert for New York? The boos were substantially edited out when the tape was sold to the public." (from http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/818364/posts)Did you know even though she sits on the Senate Committee on Armed Services, that under her watch, "James J. DiGeorgio and Carl Steubing died in ways no war veteran should. They were subjected to illegal drug experimentation by employees of the Stratton Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Albany, N.Y.; killed by servants of the very government they fought to protect." (from http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0828-24.htm)As with all of the Republican candidates running for president, Hillary Clinton takes contributions and donations from several Political Action Committees (PAC) toward her campaign. That money goes into her pocket for her election just as the PAC's go into her pocket for "favors" later toward legislation.Barack Obama, on the other hand, takes money only from the American public -- they are the ones to whom he will be indebted and obligated. The question becomes, do you want a president who owes PACs favors, or one who owes the American public? I believe it's time we made that decision for the presidency as well as all members of the United States House and the Senate.
Micir's 22 fuel double-digit win
Though she visited Penn last year as a potential recruit, it was clear from the tipoff that there was no love lost between Micir and the Quakers. She netted the Tigers' first six points from behind the arc, helping Princeton establish a 10-4 lead within three minutes, 53 seconds. Penn was not ready to call it a night, however, and Maggie Burgess' layup at 11:57 put the Quakers back on top, 13-12. Senior forward and captain Meagan Cowher responded quickly, sinking her first jumper of the game less than 30 seconds later. The competition remained fierce, though, and the lead changed another two times as halftime drew near. Finally, Princeton broke away with a 7-0 run the last 3:17 of the half, setting the score at 30-23 before the buzzer. Penn took the floor aggressively in the second half, and the Quakers' Kelly Scott's foul shots narrowed the Tigers' lead to five within 2:03.

Pat McKee: High School Q&A
Answer: The way the tournament is set up, Ben Davis and North Central would meet in a girls basketball regional game if each wins its respective sectional. Thus, only one of them could reach the semistate and become a final four team in Class 4A. As of now, the favorites to be the final four teams in Class 4A would be South Bend Washington, Fort Wayne South, Ben Davis and Terre Haute South. Question: Has there been any talk of Franklin Central's Patrick Bade possibly being recruited for both football and basketball at any school? What level do you think he should play at in both sports? (Ethan from Indianapolis) Answer: I checked with Franklin Central coaches Mark James and Lance Scheib. Coach James told me that Patrick Bade is being recruited at the Division I level for both football and basketball, but that he is unaware of any school recruiting Bade for both sports.
Update: Library Has 10 Copies of "Water for Elephants"
The driver of the explorer was very depressed about the accident, the driver of the nissan and her passengers (two teen girls and a teen boy) were upset as well. No idea who caused the accident due to the fact that everyone was hitting their brakes pretty hard. The passengers of the mini van 7 in all (myself included) have whiplash and minor cuts and bruises. DFO: Huckleberries Online first reported this accident, off the police scanner, at 11:32 a.m. Thursday here. I appreciate Angel's update -- and that she's all right. Indeed, online community journalism adds a dimension that the dead-tree media rarely ever does: eyewitness reports from survivors of what would be dismissed as "minor" accidents. When you're involved, there are no minor accidents. .
